GYGSC is a small friendly informal club with probably the best sea sailing in Norfolk. Located on the Gorleston side of the inner harbour mouth next to the Pier hotel and fronting onto the promenade. The club dinghy Park is very secure as it is surrounded by a six foot high fence and is overlooked by the harbour masters office. A ramp located near the club runs between the promenade and the beach. This provides access to the sea which allows launching in most tides and weather situations.
We offer some of the best sea sailing in Norfolk with a mixture of demanding courses to suit all types of dinghy. All racing is conducted from our committee boat with laid marks to help get the best possible racing. The club races every Sunday during the summer and also runs a Thursday evening series. A large range of classes are sailed including 505, B14, Contender, Finn, Fireball, Formula 18 cat., Javelin, Laser, Laser 4000, Phantom, RS300, RS400, RS500, RS600, RS700 & RS800. The also runs a number of open meetings throughout the year including an open windward/leeward Sprint Series and the Lowestoft passage race
