For a change the tide was assisting the beat which proved helpful as the wind eased a tad midway through the evening. At the start of the first race there was a pleasant F2 from the north. ….
It was a warm but overcast evening for the eight crews in seven different boat classes. Once again all single handers with only the Phantoms managing to produce more than one boat.
Although the forecast suggested the wind would slowly turn to the North it held steady from the East most of the evening, ….
The forecast probably put a few off and with several regulars away numbers were low. The sea conditions were ok and the offshore wind was fine around the clubhouse but no doubt a lot stronger offshore!

GYGSC is a small friendly informal club with probably the best sea sailing in Norfolk. We sail on Sundays & Thursday evenings throughout the summer. GYGSC is located on the Gorleston side of the inner harbour mouth next to the Pier hotel and fronting onto the promenade. The club dinghy Park is secure as it is surrounded by a six foot high fence. A ramp located near the club runs between the promenade and the beach. This provides access to the sea which allows launching in all tides and most weather situations.
